MCL-T broadband solution

MCL-T makes standard shell phantoms - heads and whole bodies - that can be used for SAR or radio radiation pattern testing.

For SAR testing it is necessary to use a tissue-equivalent liquid, and usually a different liquid is needed for each frequency band. This requires a test laboratory to keep a range of different liquids and it also means that changing frequency band requires that the phantom is drained, washed and refilled. MCL-T is pleased to be able to offer an alternative - a broadband tissue-equivalent liquid that can used for SAR testing at any frequency between 30 MHz and 6 GHz.

Many laboratories use tissue-liquids that are specified for SAR testing in phatoms that are used for radio radiation pattern testing, and the MCL-T broadband liquid can be used for this application with any of our shell phantoms.

Radio radiation pattern testing does not actually require a shell phantom filled with tissue-equivalent liquid, as long as the phantom's shape and electrical properties are appropriate. MCL-T supplies solid broadband (130 MHz - 6 GHz) hand, head and body phantoms made of carbon-loaded silicone rubber. These products are robust and have, effectively, infinite shelf-life.
